Alice Kathryn "Akey" Eagle Williams died in Sun City, Ariz., on Feb. 16, 2010. She was born in Benld on April 10, 1911, the daughter of Helen Crane and Fred White Eagle. She was a 1929 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro Community High School in Anna. She graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., in 1931. She taught school until she married Ray Aubrey Williams on Aug. 12, 1933. She and Ray lived in several parts of the country until they settled from Lockport, N.Y., to the Phoenix area in 1967. Mr. Williams preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1983. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Harriett Eagle (Grover) Schleifer, and a niece, Carolyn Garrott (Bud) Wolf. Survivors include her sister, Betty Garrott of Anna; her niece's husband, Bud (Rosemary) Wolf of Sun City West; nephews Fred (Paula) Garrott of Springfield and Dr. Grover F. (Fredricka) Schleifer III of Union City, Tenn.; great-nieces and great-nephews Wendy Wolf of Atlanta, Ga., Whitney Garrott (Kyle) Smith of Chicago, Davy Virginia and Fredricka Rebecca Schleifer of Union City, Tenn., Scott (Debbie) Wolf of Kenosha, Wis., and Christopher Wolf of Chicago; and six great-great-nieces. She was a resident of the Sun Valley Lodge and a member of United Church of Sun City, Ariz. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 9, at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services in Youngtown, Ariz. Pastor David Graham of the United Church of Sun City will preside. Alice's remains will be placed alongside her husband at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City.
