Juanita J. Williams, 83, of Springfield, passed away at 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at St. John's Hospice with her family by her side. Juanita was born the third of nine children on November 23, 1926 in Anna, IL, the daughter of Harry and Agnes Oliver Boyer. Juanita graduated from Vandalia High School in 1945. She married Robert C. Williams in 1948 and they later divorced. He preceded her in death in 2009. Juanita worked for the State of Illinois for 20 years until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church for over 50 years and enjoyed volunteering for various organizations. She is survived by her son, Scott C. (wife, Cindy) Williams of Springfield; daughter, Susan M. Irwin of Springfield; four grandchildren, Justin C. Williams, Travis S. (wife, Kate) Williams, and Alex and Josey Irwin; one great-grandchild, Nadalie Knott; brother, Paul (wife, Ollie) Boyer of Peoria, AZ and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, October 22, 2010 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos Ave. Springfield with Rev. Robert Jallas, celebrant. Inurnment will follow at the Virtues of Life Columbarium in Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Hospice, 800 E. Juanita Jewel Boyer attented Davie Grade School, Anna Junior, and Freshman year at Anna Jonesboro Community High School in Anna before trantranferred and graduating Vandalia High School in 1945.

ANNA - Wayne Dusch, 83, of Peoria, formerly of Anna, died at 7:13 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at his home. He was born May 8, 1927, in Dawson Springs, Ky., the son of Wayne and Alice D. Crider Dusch. He married Nancy L. Heidewald Sept. 3, 1949, in Peoria. Wayne is survived by his wife, Nancy of Peoria; seven children, Laura (Steve) Biegler, Linda (William) Johanson, Lea Ann (Phil) Zerwer, William Dusch, Robert (Lisa) Dusch, James (Christy) Dusch and Joseph (Julie) Dusch; 22 grandchildren, Amy Biegler, Neil (Heather) Biegler, Erica (Christian) Ramazzini, Tyler Johanson, Angela (Dennis) Sharum, Nathan Zerwer, Jennifer (Steve) Dando, Rachel Zerwer, Hanna, Abby, Keely, Connor, Leah, Holly, Audrey, Josie, Samuel, Greyson, Jessica, Katie, Derek and Josh Dusch; five great-grandchildren, Nyah, Nadia and Isaac Biegler, Regan and McKinley Sharum; one sister, Katherine (Joe) Boyd; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Wayne grew up in Anna, and he was a graduate of Anna-Jonesboro High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a veteran of World War II and Korea. Wayne attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Peoria. He was a barber for more than 60 years, operating Bob's Barbershop on Farmington Road for many years. He worked for more than 20 years as a welder for Caterpillar Inc., retiring in 1992. Wayne was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved to barbecue. Services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, in The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria, with the Rev. Matt Morgan officiating. Interment was in the Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to OSF Hospice of Bethany Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Helen Irma Eaves Purkaple Amunrud, 82, of Marion, died at 4:27 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 at Parkway Manor in Marion.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Dickerson and Reverend Thomas Purkaple officiating. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Anna City Cemetery.

Helen was born March 4, 1928 in Anna to Frank and Mamie (Martin) Eaves. She married Donald Purkaple; he preceded her in death in 1989. She later married Robert Amunrud on June 1, 1996 in Granite City; they were united in marriage by her grandson, Reverend Thomas Purkaple. Survivors include her husband, Robert Amunrud of Marion; sons, Steven Purkaple of Oden, David Purkaple of Benton and James Purkaple of Granite City; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and many cousins and other relatives; at a recent reunion she counted 110. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; brothers, Glenn and Frank "Bunky"; and sister, Mary Ruth. Helen was a graduate of Anna Jonesboro High School, Class of 1945 and later graduated from SIU with an Education degree. She taught 4th grade for 34 years at Vencie and Rose Lake schools. She was a member of the teachers society, Delta Kappa Gamma. She retired to the Lake of Egypt and was on the Board of Directors at Egypt Shores Subdivision. She was a member of Marion First Baptist Church and because of her love for music she joined the Celebration Choir and the Joy Singers Choir. She was an active in senior adult activities and helped in providing meals to International Students at SIU. Her and her husband Robert, moved to Liberty Village in 2004. She enjoyed many activities among them were playing Bridge, reading, a dancing member of Smoothies Dance Club, basketball, baseball, raising flowers and bird watching. Pendleton - Ruby J. Davie, age 78 of Pendleton, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2006 at Willowbrook Terrace. A Funeral service for Mrs. Davie will begin at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, in the chapel at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton. Burial will be at Olney Cemetery. The fifth of eleven children, Mrs. Davie was born May 26, 1927, to Iva and Charles Housman in Anna, Illinois. She graduated with highest honors from Anna-Jonesboro High School in 1945. In 1946, she married William T. Arnold in Anna, Illinois. They moved to Pendleton, Oregon in 1951. They had two children, Deborah and Theresa. She later married Donald Davie and they were married until his death in 1986. She had been employed by the State of Oregon for 44 years. She was best know for her work as Personnel Coordinator at Oregon Training Center. After her retirement it was said it took seven people to replace her. Mrs. Davie had many passions, she loved politics was committed to supporting the Democratic Party and had volunteered her time in elections for Bill Clinton and John Kitzhaber. She loved her home and was an avid gardener who was recipient of the "Yard of the Month" award several times. She loved being a grandmother, and Christmas was her favorite time of the year. Mrs. Davie was a history and biography enthusiast. She subscribed to Time magazine from the time she was in high school. She loved fishing, dancing, watching movies, reading and shopping. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Davie and four sisters, Ruthie, Alice, Reba and Mable. Survivors include sisters, Millie and Lela, both of Anna, Illinois, and Mary of Prescott Valley, Arizona; brothers; Charles of Carbondale, Illinois, Claude of Searcy, Arkansas; and Robert of Wheatfield, Indiana; Stepson, Odell Arnold of Milton-Freewater; daughters, Deborah Everett of Pendleton and Theresa Fredrickson of Boise; six grandchildren,
Nicole McLouth, Michael Taylor, Eric Taylor, Erin Taylor, Matthew Everett and Vincent Fredrickson, one great-grandson, stepson Richard Davie;
and stepdaughters, Kay, Linda, Jackie and Susan.

Wilma Jean Sillivan, 84, died at 10:17 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. She was born on Aug. 12, 1928, in Roxana, the daughter of Lonnie and Anna Harris Rion. She married Robert Eugene Sullivan on June 29, 1947, in Anna. He preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1997. She is survived by her son, Terry (Barbara) Sullivan of Lick Creek; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Sullivan of Nashville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Bill) Ecker, Rob (Amanda) Sullivan and Terry Eugene Sullivan; five great-grandchildren, Garrison, Bryce and Lauren Ecker, Kaitlyn and Hailie Sullivan; two sisters-in-law, Joan Rion of Anna and Luetta Rion of Lick Creek; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Sullivan; one son, Robert Lee Sullivan; three brothers, Gerald, Gilbert and Don Rion; and one sister, Juanita Briggs. Funeral services for Mrs. Sullivan were at noon Friday, May 24, at Ebenezer Hall Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lick Creek with the Rev. Ken Wilson officiating. Interment was in the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to the Ebenezer Hall Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
