Floyd Odell Baughman, 58 of Desoto and Formerly of Anna-Jonesboro, died at 5 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 1997, in Anna. He was born on February 18, 1939, in Alexander County, Illinois, the Son of James W. and Viola Holmes Baughman. His mother and grandmother Sally Holmes preceded him in death. He is survived by his father, James W. Baughman of Havanna; an aunt Marie Gustafson of Clinton, Iowa; and other relatives. Floyd was well known in the Union County area, where he worked for many homeowners and business as well as school and park districts. He was a member of the Landmark Pentecostal Church in Anna. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Monday, August 18, at Landmark Pentecostal Church in Anna with Rev. Charles E. Mitchell officiating. Interment was in Jonesboro Cemetery. Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna was in charge of Arrangements. He attended Jonesboro grade school and Anna Jonesboro Community High School and graduated with the Class of 59.

Wednesday, January 9, 2008 ALTO PASS, Ill. Kay Myers, 66, of Alto Pass died Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at her home. She was born Jan. 2, 1942, at Mill Creek, Ill., daughter of Carl "Doc" and Fay Vick Cruse. She and Paul Ray Myers were married May 14, 1967, in Anna, Ill. He died July 3, 1996. Formerly of Anna, she was a 1959 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro High School. She attended Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Myers had been a medical indexer with Mosby Publishing Co., and retired as a clerk and receptionist from Union County Hospital. Survivors include a son, Michael Myers of Alto Pass; a daughter, Vicki Myers of Alto Pass; two sisters, Carolyn Cruse-Swope, and Carlene Baumheuter of Cahokia, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time Thursday at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Alto Pass. The funeral will be at noon Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Davy Miller officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery. Note: Kay was very active in Band and other school actives. She will be missed my many.

Davis Earl D 1939 2011 Earl D. Davis, age 72 of Carlinville and formerly of Anna, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 11:35 pm at the Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. Earl was born on June 13, 1939 in Anna, the son of Beryl and Bessie (Spurlock) Davis. Survivors include two aunts, Lorene Morgan of Jonesboro and Mabel Spurlock of Anna; several cousins and many caregivers and friends at his home at the Friendship Home in Carlinville. He was preceded in death by a twin sister Doris and his parents. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Casper Cemetery in Anna with the Rev. Joe Aldridge officiating. Burial will be in the Casper Cemetery. Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements. Donald R. DeWitt, son of John A. and Bessie Lorene Harvel DeWitt, was born on Aug. 21, 1941, in Mill Creek and died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau at the age of 57 years. Donald married Rosemary Higgins in Springfield on Dec. 26, 1966. He was a former partner in Hillside Terrace Home in Cobden until retirement. He was a member of National Rifle Association, Egyptian Rifle and Pistol Club in Carterville, Illinois Stat Rifle Association and was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cobden. Donald was an avid fisherman and hunter. Survivors include his wife Rosemary of Cobden; two sons, Richard DeWitt of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Michael DeWitt of Cobden; one grandson, Shane DeWitt; two sisters and brother-in-law, Gail DeWitt of Cobden and Joann and Don Lisch of Anna; his mother-in-law, Beatrice Higgins of Springfield; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert L. and Margaret Ann Higgins Harris of Springfield; cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Friday, March 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cobden with Father Federico Higuera officiating. Interment was in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Cobden. Friday, January 23, 2009 ANNA, Ill. Gary Evans, 68, of Anna died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at City Care Center in Anna. He had worked in the maintenance department of Union County Hospital. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Eileen Robins of Marion, Ill.; a brother, Mark Miles of Chicago; and a sister, Michele Moore of Centralia, Ill. He was preceded in death by a brother. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Anna. Private interment will be at a later date.

Nancy Virginia Freebern Modglin passed away on October 3, 2013. Nancy attended Anna Junior High and Anna-Jonesboro Community High School and graduated with 1959 A-J Class. Nancy married Edward Modglin. Ed was a 1958 A-J graduate. Edward passed away October 17, 2007. Survivors include two sons, James and Stephen; two daughters, Michelle, Kathy, a sister Marlene Kuikman and sister-in-law, Barbara Modglin (Paul) Prinster. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Modglin October 17, 2007 Interment will be at Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair, Missouri.

Carolyn Garrott Wolf, 64, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2006 with family by her side, due to complications from cancer. Carolyn was born on November 29, 1941 in Oak Park, IL.
She married Earl "Bud" Wolf in Anna, IL, on August 26, 1961, with whom she shared 45 happy years. She is also survived by children, Scott and wife Debbie Wolf of Kenosha, WI, Wendy Wolf of Pine Lake, GA, Christopher Wolf of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Jordan, Stephanie, Cassandra, Haley, Alyssa, and McKenna Wolf of Kenosha, WI; parents, Betty and Jeff Garrott of Anna, IL; brother, Fred Garrott and wife Paula of Springfield, IL; nieces, Whitney and husband Kyle Smith of Chicago, IL, Shauna Small and nephew Brady Small also of FL; sister-in-law, Diane and husband Bob Frost of Boca Raton, FL and aunt, Alice K. Williams of Sun City, AZ. Carolyn was an active member of the West Wichita Welcome Wagon and of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She was an avid bridge player, skilled craftsperson and disinterested golfer. Carolyn enjoyed gatherings with family and friends.She was previously employed by Carthage College and Holy Nativity Lutheran Church in Kenosha, WI. Memorial services are 11:00 A.M. Charles Frederick Jean of Glendale, Ariz., and formerly of Anna, died Oct. 9, 2009, at Hospice of the Valley in Tempe, Ariz. He was born in Anna on March 10, 1942, the son of Helen Fritzinger Jean and Charles Norvell Jean. Mr. Jean was a retired chemist for the City of Phoenix water department. Survivors include two sons, Christopher Jean of Valley Village, Calif., and Douglas Jean of Mesa, Ariz.; a grandson, Morgan Jean of Mesa, Ariz.; and two sisters, Damaris Long of Zoar, Ohio, and Patricia Taylor of Marion, Ohio. METROPOLIS Carl Eugene Landis, 68, died at 6:25 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at his home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, in Miller Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jack Russell officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery at Lick Creek near Anna. Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at the funeral home. Born Nov. 29, 1940, in Anna, he graduated from Anna-Jonesboro High School in 1959. Mr. Landis moved to Ohio and worked as a machinist at AKKO Fastener Screw Co. for 30 years until he retired in 2006. His passion was restoring his home in Metropolis, where he and his wife would drive down every weekend and work on fixing up their retirement home. Carl's other hobbies were bowling, golfing and camping. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Patricia A. Ranes Landis of Metropolis. He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Davis of Newport, Ky.; sons, Tracy Landis of Lake Geneva, Wis., Todd Landis of Fall City, Neb., Alex Landis of McHenry, and John McCoy and wife, Tonya of Lebanon, Ohio; grandchildren, Rachelle Mound, Sara Landis, Erika Stout, Kyle Stout, Barbara McCoy and Johnny McCoy; great-grandchildren, Arianna and Alexia Peterson; and brothers, Chester L. Landis and wife, Karen, of Huntly, William E. Landis and wife, Cheryl, of Bourbonais, Larry W. Landis and wife, Wendy, of Rockford and Calvin L. Landis and wife, Evelyn, Du Quoin. Bill Joe Lemaster 1941 2013

Billy "Joe" Lemaster, 72 of Granite City passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013 at his home with his family by his side. Joe was born on March 7, 1941 in Tunnel Hill, IL, the son of the late Gladys (Webb) Lemaster. He was an observer and quality control technician at Granite City Steel in the B.O.F Lab until his retirement in 2003. Joe was a member of Mt. Zion General Baptist Church in Granite City where he served as a trustee; he was a proud alumnus of Murray State University; was a member of the Belleville Racing Pigeon's Club. Joe was a solid and stable man who had a tremendous work ethic. He set a good example for others and never wanted to be the center of attention. In his free time he enjoyed pigeons, reading and working crossword puzzles. He will be remembered for the many lives he touched and the special love he shared with his family. He is survived by and will be missed by his wife; Carolyn (Metzger) Lemaster, whom he married on April 10, 1963 in Anna, IL; sons; Randy and (Amy) Lemaster of Granite City, Joseph Lemaster of Afton, MO; daughter, Lana and (Mark) Maue of Edwardsville, IL; grandchildren, Brandon Panosh, Hadley Panosh, Savanna Maue, Isaac Maue, Olivia Maue, Greta Lemaster; brother, Donald Lemaster of Ocoee, FL; sisters, Louise Knowles of Algonquin, IL, Loretta Milton of Anna, IL. Billy Joe Lemaster was a very active member of the A-J class of 1959 was very well like by all and will be missed. Joe payed football and was all Southwest Egyptian Conference football gaurd on the 1959 A-J football team.

Jane Ligon Seabaugh, 70, of Anna, Illinois, died on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at St. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born on August 4, 1941 in Anna the daughter of Harvey Lee and Helen I. (Church) Ligon. She married Ernest Seabaugh on October 28, 1987. He survives her. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Anna. Jane was an excellent pianist and organist, she also enjoyed painting and woodworking. She loved her cat Mr. Whiskers. She is survived by her husband, Ernie of Anna; 1 son, Tim (Elaina) Keller of Anna; 1 daughter, Becky (Bob) Hebel of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; 2 step-sons, David (Connie) Seabaugh of Jackson, Missouri and Michael Seabaugh of Altenburg, Missouri; 1 step-daughter, Susan (Kevin) Webber of Plano, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Sydney Haynes, Elias Keller, Soren Keller, William Keller, Samantha Miller and Brandi Miller; 15 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, Sailor Waters and Chloe Seabaugh and1 great grandchild due in September; 2 sisters, Barbara (Leland) Smith of Huntsville, Alabama and Mary Wurtz of St. Louis, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother-in-law, John Wurtz and 1 step-daughter-in-law, Heather Seabaugh. Mrs. Linda K. Stearns, age 72 of Lick Creek, died at 7:35 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2015 in the Union County Hospital in Anna. She was born September 12, 1942 in Johnson County, the daughter of Wayne "Doc" and Elva "Pete" Davis Manus. She married Cecil "Peck" Stearns on January 21, 1964 in the Pleasant Ridge Church. Linda is survived by her loving husband of fifty-one years, Cecil "Peck" Stearns of Lick Creek; one son, Brad (Marsha) Stearns of Medora, IL; one daughter, Carmen (Mike) Dammerman of Anna; three grandchildren, Briane Penny, Mikayla Dammerman and Megan Dammerman; one great-grandchild, Raelyne Cheek; one sister, Joan (John) Cunningham of Johnson County; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Linda owned and operated Linda's Beauty Salon in Lick Creek for fifty-five years. One of her passions was attending her children and grandchildren sporting events. She enjoyed yard sales and shopping, as a teenager she played first base for the Lick Creek 4-H Merry Maids. Linda was a lifelong resident of Lick Creek and dearly loved everyone in the community. Funeral services for Mrs. Linda K. Stearns will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Kenneth Mixen officiating. Interment will be in the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery in Lick Creek. Clarence "CE" Penninger 1941 2013

Clarence "CE" Penninger, age 72, of Kaneville, passed from this life to eternal life in the early morning hours of November 2, 2013, surrounded by the love and prayers of his family at his home. Clarence was born May 6, 1941 the son of Clarence and Lois (Boyd) Penninger in Anna, IL, where heattended local schools before graduating with the Class of 1959. Clarence enjoyed being a member of the Boy Scouts of America during his early years. Clarence was introduced to a young lady by the name of Lois Hardy (nee Slavik) by mutual friends. On January 23, 1970 the two were wed in Aurora IL. The newlyweds made their home in Kaneville where they made memories to last a lifetime. Clarence and Lois enjoyed the wind in their hair and you would often pass them on the road while they were enjoying motorcycling or riding bicycles. The couple also enjoyed taking hiking trips together. Clarence and Lois wintered for 11 winters in Apache Junction Arizona. Clarence worked for Caterpillar for 30 years before retiring in 1996. Clarence as a long time member of the Kaneville Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as Chaplain for the department. He was also a member Kaneville Men's Prayer Group. Clarence was a devoted member of Village Bible Church in Sugar Grove. SURVIVORS; He is survived by his wife of 43 years Lois Penninger; Son Kenneth (Terina) Penninger, of Mesa, AZ, Daughters Katrina (David) Winograd, of Mattoon, IL, and Pamela Click, of Metropolis, IL, Nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; Sister Susan Hase, of Anna, IL; And Many nieces and nephews. PRECEDED: Clarence is preceded by his parents, and his daughter Jenny Penninger. VISITATION / FUNERAL Visitation will be held Wednesday November 6, 2013 at Village Bible Church, 847 North State Route 47, Sugar Grove, IL from 11am- 12:45pm with a funeral service to celebrate his life beginning at 1pm. Interment will follow at Kaneville, Township Cemetery. Harold E. Stanton was Regular Army SSG grade E6 with year 8 of service. Harold tour started March 12, 1967. He was killed from hostile multiple fragmentation wounds in Dinh Duong Province of South Vietnam. His body was recovered. Stanton name is located on pane 34E-Row 60 of the Vietnam War Wall in D.C. Harold E. Stanton was born January 9, 1941 in Jonesboro, Illinois. He was married. Harold was Protestant. Harold E. Stanton was a gradated of Anna Jonesboro High School with the Class of 1959. He attended Jonesboro grade school.
