Ms. Diane Kay Kelley, age 63 of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, died at 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at her home in Cape Girardeau. She was born October 27, 1949 in Cape Girardeau, MO, the daughter of Dempsey and Thelma Garrison Harvel. Diane is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn Kelley of Jonesboro; one grandson, Braxton Kristoff; mother, Thelma Harvel of Jonesboro; two sisters, Carolyn (John) Bavender of Marion, Charlotte Carter of Austin, TX; special friend, Marla Rendleman; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father. Diane worked many years as an office manager in the automotive industry. Funeral services for Ms. Diane Kay Kelley will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Interment will be in the St. John's Cemetery. Virginia Mays Newman, daughter of Grover M Sr. and Ada Catherin Farris Mays was raised in Union County, Illinois. She attended Davie Grade School, Anna Junior High and Anna Jonesboro Community High School in the class of 1967. Survivors her husband James Newman, three sons, her parents, brothers Sherman, Allen Sr., Grover Jr.,Ronnie, and sister Beverly Mays all of Anna.

Mrs. Larry (Sharon K.) Stewart, 62, passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, Jan. 10, 2012, in Morris Hospital. She was born July 19, 1949, in Cairo, the daughter of Lawrence and Betty McGee Miller. She resided in Mounds with her family where she received her elementary education and graduated from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School with the class of 1967. Sharon married the love of her life, Larry R. Stewart on Sept. 20, 1968, in Anna Heights Baptist Church. With her husband and family, they moved to Morris to make their home in July 1971. She was employed as a real estate broker and for the last 35 years she was associated with Coleman-Hornsby Century 21 real estate office in Morris.Sharon was a generous giving lady. With her husband, they enjoyed spending the winter season in Florida. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who treasured the times that she spent with her family. She was a member of First Baptist Churchin Coal City. Surviving is her loving husband of more than 43 years, Larry; their three children, Scott (Wanda) Stewart of Morris, Laura (Anthony) Swancutt of Plum City, Wis., and Stephanie (Deron) Heap of Morris; six beautiful grandchildren, whom she adored, Lachlan and Kieran Stewart, Brendan and Kelsey Swancutt and Ethan and Rachel Heap; one sister, Ludena (Glenn) Mowery of Morris; one brother, Kenneth Miller of St. Jacob; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14,in First Baptist Church of Coal City, 4470 E. Illinois 113, with Dr. Avery Wilson offi-ciating. Cremation rites will be after the services. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, in U.C. Tom Sherrill 1949 2011, A-J 1967 Class, Army Veteran, Information furnished by A-J Classmate and Friends.

Mr. Tom Sherrill, age 61 of Jonesboro, died at 6:13 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. He was born September 24, 1949 in Anna, the son of Kenneth L. and Geneva Ritter Sherrill. He married Cheryl Beth Miller on September 10, 1977 in Pulaski County. Tom is survived by his wife, Cheryl Sherrill of Jonesboro; 2 sons, Brad Sherrill (Brittany Pogue) of Anna and Jeff Sherrill (Megan Cross and daughter Lily Cross-Baker) of Jonesboro; mother and father-in-law, Deloris and Darrell Miller of Dongola; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lynn and Sandra Miller o f Dongola and Cindy and Greg Webb of Ullin; a nephew, Rusty Miller of Dongola; a niece, Katelan Webb of Ullin; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Tom graduated from Anna-Jonesboro High School in 1967 and then attended and graduated from SIU-Carbondale majoring in Health Administration. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Tom was one of the first EMTs to work for the Union County Ambulance Service, also serving as Director. He worked in the X-ray department at Union County Hospital for over 20 years before becoming Operations Manager at SIOC in Herrin. He was Deputy Coroner for Union County for over 20 years and he served on the Jonesboro School Board for over 24 years. He was also a member of the ARRT, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Tom sincerely loved his wife of almost 34 years and was so proud of his sons. He will be sorely missed by his family. Funeral services for Tom Sherrill will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Jimmy Keller and Kim Capel officiating. Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery with military honors at the graveside by the Illinois National Guard Funeral Honor Team in Marion. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday, at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
