Lisa G. Hess, 45, died at 5:40 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2006, in the home of her parents, surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 11, 1960, in Anna, the daughter of Wayne L. and Darlene Eiselmeier Douglas. She married Samual W. Hess on May 19, 1984, in Anna. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Anna. Lisa graduated from Anna-Jonesboro High School in 1979; and from Shawnee Community College in 1981 with an associates of applied science degree, and was on the President's Honor Roll. She graduated from SIUC in 1988 with an associated of applied science in court reporting. She worked as a legal assistant for the Union County States Attorney's office and a court reporter for the Union County Coroner's office for 15 years. She is survived by her husband, Sam Hess of Cobden; two sons, Tyler Wayne Hess and Jacob Samuel Hess of Cobden; parents, Wayne L. and Darlene Douglas of Anna; a sister, Tanya D. and husband, Ted Womick, of Anna; sister-in-law, Dinanna and husband, Denny Wilson, of Dongola; niece, Sarah and husband, Bill Reed, of Cobden; great-niece, Nicole Reed of Cobden; aunts, uncles, other relatives and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Carl and Leona Eiselmeier; and paternal grandparents, Claude and Birdie Douglas. God looked around his garden and He found an empty place. He then looked down upon earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful. He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering. He knew that you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb,
so He closed your weary eyelids and whispered, "Peace be thine." It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn't go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home.

Mr. Ronald "Ronnie" Lee Pind, age 52 of Anna, died at 9:33 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013 at his home in rural Anna. He was born June 17, 1961 in Anna, the son of James W. and Monica Irene Smith Pind. He married Bernice Musgrave on June 19, 1985 in Anna. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Bernice Pind of Anna; four children, Curtis (Sarah) Moore of Jonesboro, Terry (Gyl) Moore of Alto Pass, Kandi (Aaron) Crowe of Murphysboro, and Calvin (Nancy) Pind of Dongola; nine grandchildren; father, James W. Pind of Jonesboro; two brothers, Kenny (Laura) Pind of Cobden, and Jimmy (Jean) Pind of Great Bend, Kansas; many relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Monica Irene Pind; and two grandchildren. Ronnie was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Cobden. He worked as a loader-operator for Shawnee Stone in Jonesboro for twenty nine years. Ronnie was an avid hunter and loved fishing. He was a committee member for the National Wild Turkey Federation. He found great joy teaching his grandchildren about the outdoors. Ronnie will be warmly remembered and dearly missed by everyone who knew him. Funeral services for Mr. Ronald "Ronnie" Lee Pind will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Doug Bridgeman officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
